LPF demands Govt of India to talk with Microsoft for Making Lumia Devices at Nokia Sriperumbudur Unit

Since beginning, LPF has been demanding operation of Nokia Sriperumbudur Unit by Microsoft, without discharging the services of employees worked in that unit. As no headway was seen, we had written on 10.1.2015, to Sri Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister to negotiate with Microsoft to commence production of devices at Sriperumbudur Unit. Also we discussed the issue in person with Finance Minister during pre-budget discussion with him. When recently Microsoft announced launching of its Lumia devices in South India, we have again on 18.2.2015, written to Finance Minister on the subject urging him to resolve the issue.

We are happy to report that the Central Electronics Department has suggested measures to Union Finance Minister to revive Nokia Unit
